I was watching Stargate at the theater with the family. When that character was introduced, I couldn’t resist trying to get a cheap laugh from my kids, particularly my boys, so I said, “It’s Michael Jackson!”

I got my laugh but Mrs M, ever vigilant in smothering my irreverent stabs at cheap humor and the inevitable undermining of my boys’ notions of public decorum, gave me an elbow to the ribs that only served to heighten the ensuing hilarity.
