I have pondered this question and want to believe humans could not build such a structure, at that time in history, which leaves either a lost race of beings or aliens to have built it.

I think: WTF did Aliens build the pyramids with stone instead of some advanced meterial that would never age?

They used the materials at hand to work with. Probably didn't have enough room on the spaceship to bring the advanced material with them.
