Parker County (Aledo, Brock, Milsap, Peaster, and Weatherford) are also nice if the wife can find employment in that area or in west Ft. Worth.

I have a branch of my electrical company in Weatherford. Really nice area. When you get just a little outside the metroplex, you get away from the cookie-cutter feel that every suburb in DFW has:
Strip mall on this street - Best Buy, Old Navy, Target with a Chili's in the parking lot.
Strip mall on the next block - Lowe's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Marshalls, HomeGoods, and a Texas Roadhouse in the parking lot.
Strip mall across the street - Home Depot, Academy, Ross, World Market, and a Buffalo Wild Wings in the parking lot.
Rinse and repeat because you're in the next suburb after a couple more lights. It's like deja vu when you're driving.

Go west, young man.
