Bayou, I have a 5 L ford v8 thats in a ‘98 explorer. Ive seen a few forums say that’s possible but I’m worried about the transmission. I can do a lot but not weld.

The Ford 5.0L is just as easy - you can adapt to the factory trans with an AA adapter. I'm not certain on what trans most run on the Ford swaps. Personally I'd never go through all that trouble and not swap in an automatic (I like rock crawling. EFI is too easy to run on Holley Terminator or Mega Squirt these days. Some people keep the factory ECM's and strip out the wiring harnesses, the aftermarket systems are just a lot cleaner and easier to tune.
