Student Union had couches and chairs and lots of quiet areas. You could also eat at the food court or go in the theater or ballrooms to watch football.
Lots of people passing through but not as noisy in all areas like the PMAC.
Union was much better atmosphere.

Keeping the Union open during game days is so much of a hassle that many of you may not understand. The biggest threat is of the liability with having that many people in and around that small of a space, for that amount of time. And let's face it...teen kids are rascals who always find mischief to get into.
