Normally I'd bust out laughing at that. But after the Troy game, well...

The new coach at Tech, Dooley, is recruiting with the promise to new comers if they are good enough they will play. No waiting on the bench 2 years. Expect Tech to improve. No laughing matter. The gulf of hatred for LSU is growing in the state due to arrogant LSU fans.

La. Tech will NEVER equal LSU. That's not arrogance...it's just reality. Tech's stadium, surroundings, and budget just pale in comparison.

That being said, I don't get the overwhelming number of fans that arrogantly ragged Bama (a real power...unlike Tech) about how pathetic they were...and continued to do so after they hired Saban!!!! Just arrogance...and stupidity.

Dooley has more control of the situation to get the money. Don't kid yourself about the funding. Tech will be a force to recon with.

I'm not going to disagree that LSU fans are arrogant. But at the same time, some of the biggest frontrunners in that argument are fans of schools like UL Lafayette, Tech, etc. With that side of the argument, it's the inability to flat out realize that LSU is simply a much bigger deal than they are - school wise, sports wise, the whole picture. Now again, X's and O's this year, I wouldn't necessarily say that LSU would steamroll over Tech like in years past. But if LSU ever lost to Louisiana Tech, that would be embarassing and it would be unacceptable because that should never happen - and I don't care how good Tech or who's coaching them.

In recent years LSU has aileanated those people from the schools you mentioned because of the one dimensional attituded of LSU fans not willing to support the rest of the state.

Oh boy. You're not dragging me into this argument. But I will say this, I feel sorry for you if you really believe that.

Well how brave. They want a piece of us when we have a down year? Well they will get a piece next year so they have nothing to worry about.

For someone who supports LSU and being from another school, what I have seen on the Rant personifies that attitude. I will always be an LSU fan in spite of it, but I will also support anybody else that represents this state. I am just as much against their hatred of LSU. This is not what I have always though Louisiana should be about. Had enough of that in Yanky Land.

On a related note, I want a piece of Trump's fortune. And it's his fault that I don't have it. He alienated me to be middle class and have to work for my money. So, he's entitled to making me his equal and supporting me financially.

PLEASE...I grew up in Ruston...my dad was All America for La. Tech...both of my parents graduated from there...my mom taught there for 30+ years.

I know the politics and the money. Their pockets aint' that deep!!!! Here's the reality:

Tech's Budget (Must click on Revenues and Expenses)

LSU's Budget (Must click on Revenues and Expenses)

Wake up and smell da coffee!

Tech broke even and spent roughly 2 million on its football team. LSU made 8 MILLION DOLLARS and spent 18 MILLION DOLLARS on football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't think that recruiting will mean more to a good player who will have a chance to play versus sitting on the bench for 2 years?

I'll call "bullshite" on this one. Most LSU fans actively support other in-state schools. What irks fans of schools like Tech, ULL, etc., are the people who earned their degrees at those schools, but attend LSU games instead of their alma mater's. What sends Techsters and Cajuns really over the edge are graduates of those schools who actually pull for LSU over their respective alma maters. They seem to not realize that LSU has alums like this as well. My neighbor got his undergraduate and law degrees from LSU, but is a HUGE Auburn homer.

Don't laugh. About 10-or-15 years ago their was a bill introduced in the legislature to take money earned by the LSU athletic department and divvy it up between the rest of the in-state schools. Needless to say, it didn't go very far.

...and there will always be the diamond-in-the-rough that got away from LSU and went to one of the other in-state schools. Always happens, always will.
