Setting aside interpretation for a moment, let’s look at history.
Muhammad was kicked out of Mecca. Muhammad rallied together warrior tribes to sack Mecca. Those warrior tribes began to fight each other so Muhammad decided to spread Islam by pursing military campaigns. Muhammad personally led 20 military campaigns.
Islam has never been about peace.
Those mf’ers took over the holy land. They occupied the Iberia peninsula. They sacked Constantinople and attempted to sack Vienna when it was the seat of the HRE.
They have always been violent. Their leader was violent. They are following the lead of their leader. It’s what they’ve always done.
