And to cement that in, during that 90’s era when the NCAA mandated that the home team wear dark jerseys instead of choosing, those were not the best years for LSU football. So wearing the purple jerseys for every home game is associated with mediocre football.

The purple jerseys have been codified as a change-of-pace at home against cupcakes.
