Do the victors of wars get to decide the fate of a country, territory or even just a plot of land? I tend to think they have the right. That doesn't mean it's always the right decision to do so.
Israel is linked to colonialization (which is a major Leftist viewpoint/talking point) in 2 ways:
1. "Israel" today is nothing more than a literal vestige of Western colonialism. It was carved up in the post-WW2 European guilt era as a response to the Holocaust, and inserted a bunch of Westerners into the Middle East, which necessitated moving a lot of Arab-Palestinians by force.
2. Israel today is seen as a colonizer of the area, with the Palestinians viewed as the marginalized subjects.
So, if your world view is skewed/formed by the lens of colonialization, Israel is both currently and historically colonial and, thus, automatically the bad guy.

For almost 80 years. The world looked MUCH different 80 years ago.
Its time for leftists to join the modern age.

It started way before WW2, but had some urgency after the war due to the Holocaust guilt, as you say.
But the question remains, do the victors of wars have the right to do as they wish? I personally think so. Few countries on Earth have not been lost or won in wars, changed hands, etc.
