St aug late season resod -

Sorry to start yet another thread on this same topic…

I know I’ve read many previous threads saying you can resod pretty much anytime in south Louisiana.

I need to do partial resodding of St Augustine in 1/2 my back yard and 2 sizeable patches in my front yard at the same time if I can.

Most of my well established grass (which is also partially shaded) has thrived despite the drought. Other newer segments that got recently resodded few years ago have burnt and failed miserably despite watering.

To the knowledgeable folks here, would you resod in late October or just wait until spring? The future temps seem pretty ideal but I don’t know what’s best.

You’d be fine either way. You’ll spend a few weeks with sprinklers going just to see it go dormant.

Unless it was really unsightly, I’d probably wait.
