30 year anniversary of all that stuff that went down in Somalia just took place. Shawn Ryan has a multipart interview with one of the Delta guys that was there. It's very good. I think they are on part 3 right now, today.

I was aboard the USS America when this all went down. We were right off the coast. Watched our people get dragged through the street, on ship's TV. I put in a request to go ashore and kill people, when all that went down. It was infuriating.

Anyway...good to remember some lessons learned from that, and the interviews on Shawn Ryan's channel are very good.

This anniversary got overlooked due to the McCarthy stuff, it seems.

It was a unbelievable feeling of helplessness. All we could do was pray for our brothers, and then swear to God, that we would kill everyone one the bastards that as much as took a swing at an American service member if given a chance. Thirty years later it still pisses me off!

Thanks for posting.

If the Pentagon had approved Gen. Garrison's request for AC-130s, the battle would have been over in two days and Mogadishu would be one huge crater.
