Saw a juvenile Black Bear in my backyard in Roswell, GA of all places. It scared me because I’d been letting my at the time 3/yo play out there semi attended. It was in a neighborhood and we had a 6’ privacy fence.
My wife’s shitty little schnauzer was losing its mind and chased it across the yard and it jumped the fence. Couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I still laugh thinking about it. I stopped calling that dog a shiteater and gave it the honorary title of “Bear dog” from that day forward.

Another story, from a friend of mine that lives just outside of Kalispell, MT.:
He was on a work trip so the wife and kids were at home alone. Wife hears a clawing on the window in the middle of the night. Turns the bedside lamp on to see a boar grizzly at her window. She shoots it in the face through the window with a .44 mag. The bear ran off without a trace. They tried to track it the next day and nothing. Head like Kevlar.
ETA: this guy kept a trail camera in his yard and regularly had pictures of 1k/lb+ grizzlies just cruising by.
