1. She is pretty enough to get attention but not so sexy to make women feel insanely jealous or insecure. She has a “normal girl” vibe and rarely dresses overtly provocatively.

2. She sings about relationships and breakups while largely avoiding being sexually explicit. This is enough to interest teen girls without throwing up red flags to more conservative moms.

3. While her father invested heavily in her career by buying a stake Big Machine Recirds label that signed her as a teen, it‘s likely she made the label successful rather than her being some sort of industry plant.

4. She managed to both “age up” to keep her initial fanbase who were teens in the late 2000’s while continuously bringing in new fans along the way thanks to her catchy songwriting. This is an incredibly difficult thing for any artist to do.

So, just as chik-fil-a isn’t really healthy or fantastic but is seen as a consistently solid and safe option for families to consume, Taylor Swift is the chick-fil-a of pop stars.
