Really?

I think he played pretty damn well all season long, considering how awful our D was this year, I thought he was solid. I never understood why PP overtook Jai instead of CH, I def. feel that JE had a better season than CH.

What do yall think?

Our depth chart isn't CB1, CB2, etc. It's RCB and LCB--Peterson and Eugene rotated with each other only. Hawkins pretty much played every meaningful snap on the other side by himself.

It's retarded.

Eugene was the best tackler in the secondary.

Everyone else just wanted to run into guys.

Peterson's more talented but I wouldn't cry if Eugene was in there with him.

#7's presence has moved Jai back to his towel waving role.

Peterson and Eugene should start.

Hawkins has been less than impressive.

Jai is not very good at covering. He tackles well for a CB though.

We all knew with PP being the defensive player of the year, that regardless of who was playing infront of him he would eventually be handed the job. I mean his parents moved to baton rouge. What do you think is going on.

He is better than Chris Hawkins in coverage, evidenced by the fact that Eugene was rarely tested aside from the one time that he slipped.

I didn't see Eugene do anything that said Peterson was better. Heck I saw peterson beat on more plays and blow more coverages than eugene ever did. Heck, I know this is low but what had to happen for Lee to get pulled? I thought that was the precedent in determining when to pull a player.

I agree. Peterson looks very good and Eugene is better than Hawkins. I understand Hawkins has to int's but he looks lost sometimes. Look at the last play of the Arkansas game. He's a good player but..... well from there it goes back to that defensive co-ordinator debacle for right now

Eugene lost his footing a few times throughout the season. Pretty much, when he got beat it was a TD. But overall, he was one of the better players on D. Hawkins played well throughout the season too. All 3 CBs definately had their ups and downs.

I think our defensive playcalling and player choices have been dicked up all season...all to be fixed soon. It's been a complete charlie foxtrot.

+1 on Jai over Hawkins

I know that one is a left corner and one right but who cares, its still corner, they should be very similar.

Hawkins has been a dissappointment for the most part. As a junior, I expect better play and for him not to get burned deep repeatedly, maybe Im asking too much though. The other corners are young and I expect some ups and downs with them.

I have been very impressed with PP but I was hoping he would be a little bit more lockdown in coverage than he has been. Hes been in great position for the most part but just not making plays on the ball. Im just nitpicking, I knows hes just a freshman.

Not in position? Say what? On the last drive alone, he broke on two balls that should of easily been INTs. Hes going to be a great CB. I think when its all said and done, he'll be remembered as one of the best CBs LSU has ever had.

I know chad jones is all world but can we see 3 legit corners in the nickel package. Peterson, eugene and hawkins would be a great combo.

I like Jai myself. It's just another indication of how much depth we have in our young secondary going into next year. I truly believe we are going to be one of the better secondary's in the SEC next year. Book it!
