Well-known American guitarist Al Di Meola is in stable condition after he suffered a heart attack while performing in Romania Wednesday. Photographer Dragos Cristescu, who was present, told the Associated Press that Di Meola, 69, was onstage with his band when he started grabbing his chest, then had difficulty getting offstage.

A hospital spokesperson later claimed that Di Meola was in stable condition.

I've had the pleasure of seeing him 5 times- including with the Return to Forever reunion in 2008. He's an amazing guitarist.
