Funny y’all think this is a great idea considering LaToya wanted to do this and got shouted down by people who actually live and work there.

The hecklers veto is not always the best gauge. Bringing back pontchatrain beach isn’t a bad idea because vocal neighbors complain about parking. People complain about everything.

On Sundays in Mexico, City, the Paseo Reforma shuts down to vehicular traffic and becomes a pedestrian only thoroughfare. This is on of the main arteries down a city with 20,000,000 people.

And it’s wonderful. People and families take to the street to run, bike and recreate.

Now Mexicans are superior to New Orleans are still care about families and Christ, but if you made the French quarter pedestrian only for large portions of each Sunday I think it would prove to be a big hit with residences and business alike.
