Everywhere I go people are staring at their phones…Dr office, grocery cashiers, people driving, construction workers. I saw a guy today on a riding mower staring at his phone. And it’s not just young people. Old people are just as guilty. Not us Americans. Last time I was in Thailand MRT mass transit…yup, everyone staring at their phones. I’m really starting to 2nd guess that smart phones are great inventions. Sure it’s convenient, connected, and we have all this info at our fingertips. But at what cost?
Lately, if I just got in my car and the phone is in the house, I say frick it and let it ride. The old me would be “what if I get an engine failure”. But nothing ever happens. I think the Phone makes us more dependent on it and we feel the need to have it on us 24/7.
