We were in Bennington, VT last October looking at fall foliage. It's about 30 minutes south of Manchester. If you want to see fall foliage this weekend you probably need to go north.

We just road around and looked at the fall colors and covered bridges but we did go the Bennington Battle Monument which I believe is the tallest structure in the state. You can go in it and take the elevator to where those windows are. Cost $5 IIRC.

There is a battlefield, it was a Revolutionary War battle, outside of town. We didn't go there.

When we left Bennington we drove to western Massachusetts for a few days and there's a lot to do there but it's a longer drive; 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Manchester.

You didn't say how you are getting to Manchester, how long you are staying or what you like to do.

Thanks for the info.

Drive in today from NYC. Actually staying in Arlington.

Interests for this trip are hikes, historical landmarks, sightseeing, eating and drinking.
