...sure we got smoked in 3 games this year. But, we should have taken down both bammer and arky. The ole piss loss came at the heels of the disappointing loss to bammer...and to a talented, very well coached team.

We've got a great recruiting class lined up...Jefferson came into his own against Arky...he'll be ready for next season...he knows the system and will have an entire Spring to fine tune things. I'm certain Crowton will groom him and shape the offense around him.

The sky is not falling. Just chill out.

We've had great recruiting for the past six or seven years. Where did it get us this year? 11th in SEC scoring defense. 10th in SEC total defense.

There's a serious problem.

Miles did good his 1st 3 years...Unfortunately, he ran out of Saban's players in his 4th year.

I truly feel that the defense played with an utter lack of will. To see our front four blocked effectively was a shock...but, they didn't looked motivated for much of the year. Plus, the 3 and outs and pick 6's kept the guys on the field constantly. Time of possession and lack of an effective offense led to much of our defensive meltdown. I have no problem with replacing the Defensive coordinator, but our offense clearly pulled down the D. Plus, much of our secondary problem was inexperience. Petterson looks like the real deal to me. Damn....he'll be better next year!

Explain how a pick six keeps the defense on the field?

Lucky for Saban he has Shula's players to save his arse this year, right?

Please tell me that you haven't reproduced.

I disagree. I think the defense played as if the offense knew what they were going to do before each play.

We got pretty damned conservative...we'd go three and out after a pick 6....then our D was right back out there.

LOOK...I think the D dragged this year...but the O set it up.

I don't think that Sabin's players have shite to do with it...According to all the so called experts prior to the season starting, LSU was fielding the best talent in the nation other than QB...I can give us a pass for QB play because of circumstances, but our defense with the best talent in the nation sucked all year...I have to put that squarely on the coaching staff's shoulders.

If the pick sixes didn't keep defense on the field, then don't say it did shithead. These excuses for the defense are laughable. The defense sucked just fine on their own without any help from the offense thank you. Qb issues were certainly going to be there, however I don't think we did a good job with the qb's also. Why would a qb like say Jefferson not be ready to take any snaps as Miles claimed as late in the season as it was when he said that. That's on the damn coaches, plus he did not look terrible at all when he finally played. And don't try to tell me he got so much more ready one week later. The defense was a complete and total clusterfrick, with any teams putting up serious yards and points on them. I mean look at what Miss St., Auburn, and Arkansas averaged for the year, and then what they all got against us. Pathetic, and the sky certainly is way on it's way down, just hope you have serious shelter!

One 7-6 year does NOT signal the end of a program. I know patience is not this board's strong suit, but we're just gonna have to wait till the middle of the 2009 season before we boot Miles out of BR ... or, if the team is winning, get down on our little knees in contrition. Possible 2009 scenarios:

7-6: Sorry, but at $4 mil per year, we should expect a lot more from our coach. Adios, Les.
8-5: Depends. 8-4 with noticable improvement and a competitive bowl loss to a decent team—well, I'll give him another year to get us back to 10+ wins.
9-4: Looks good for 2010.
10 or more wins: Apologize to Les, children, you were wrong.

Bottom line for me: At $4 mil per year, I expect a pretty significant turn around in 2009. Not necessarily an SEC West title, but enough improvement so I can see us as the frontrunners in 2010.

If it's not falling now, exactly how bad does it have to get before it does?
