I’ve never heard this theory before lol
I won’t go deer hunting without mine. If I’m squirrel or rabbit hunting I’ll spray down with OFF because I don’t think thermocells work when you’re walking. I hunt out of a saddle and I do move my thermocell to the upwind side of my body. If you don’t do that, I don’t think it works. But as long as you’re in the smoke, you’re good.

I'm a fan of thermocells also, but

I have to wonder about it's cancer causing effects. I've wondered about it before, but even more so when I saw the guy on youtube mentioning a chinese version of the blue chemical pads that are "virtually" the same thing.

No fun to think about when you're young, but even less fun sitting in an exam room receiving the news when you're 50.

All I'm saying is, don't use it when you don't have to.
