Did anyone hear that shite between Tim Brando and Spencer Tillman during halftime of the UGA/GT game. Black coaches "dwindling" in college football.

Gimme a freakin break! We have a black president to be! No one is "holding the black man down!" Get a life and realize that it is not all everyone else's fault. You make your own life, and if you want a job, you get it yourself. I can't wait for the day until it is no longer about black and white. It is simply a color of skin!!!!

I think they were mainly just pointing out how its kinda crazy that out of 119 division IA teams only 2 head coaches ... not that anyone is holding them fully back but there are some qualified candidates of all races that get passed for one reason or another and that shouldn't be instead you give a 10-yr extention to a guy after 1 good season, its just kinda crazy in general how CFB operates whether its filling coaching vacancies or deciding a champion

What's also weird is that the few black coaches in the NCAA all suck...

The only thing more annoying than people bitching about not enough black coaches is people bitching about people bitching about not enough black coaches.

Name some good black candidates who deserve to be considered for a head job because of experience and track record comparable to the rest of the candidate pool.

Who is not getting getting a fair chance?

Yea, but it's not like there are a ton of candidates out there! Their point was simple: there are not enough black college football coaches...don't kid yourself!

I don't give a shite if it is a woman, man, black, white, indian, mexican, etc. JUST GET THE JOB DONE! There is much less racism these days than in years past

Turner Gill is going to bring Buffalo to it's first ever bowl game.

Well Randy Shannon is a pretty good coach. Everyone else sucks.

Why don't make a big deal about not having enough Asian coaches? Keepin' the yellow man down, I guess!

Or Hispanic, Indian, etc.?

My thing is this. In 2008 the #1 priority is to win. I just dont see a program not hiring a black guy if he is a proven winner.

Ty Whillingham always complained about it but had mostly white coordinators..

I just heard Tim and Spencer talk about it again; I didn't find anything offensive about it. Brando is just throwing numbers at us and asking us, rhetorically, "Why?"

I don't see how anyone can be offended by that.

Black coaches will see more success, and they'll get more jobs; it's inevitable. The argument here--the sensible one--is whether colleges/universities tend to be reluctant to hire a black coach. Some, yes; some, no.

I disagree! IMHO Croom is a good coach but its hard to compete with the "Big Boys" in the SEC when you only get a few great players and the opponents rosters are stacked with them. Croom was good enough to PLAY at Bama but they wouldn't hire him as a COACH. He is definitely as good as what they had before Saban. Willingham also was fired at ND. Weiss came in and had a BCS bowl season with ALL TW recruits. Then when they left. Weiss had a horrible season. After ND's debacle last year, how was it that Weiss even KEPT his job? To add insult to injury, Weiss' contract was even EXTENDED!

Please look at some of the situations that prompt some to feel the way they do. In CFB, if you don't hve as much talent s your opponents on a consistent basis, you will not do very well. You will win some games that you weren't expected to but overall you will not be considered that great. t this level, it's more so about the talent.

It'll be interesting to see what schools end up trying to hire Sumlin away from Houston and Gill away from Buffalo. Both are good enough to coach at BCS-level schools--at least it appears that way.

I didn't find anything offensive either. But their argumant holds no water. Tillman could only name Tuner Gill and the "coach at Houston" he didn't even know his name Kevin Sumlin- Brando had to help him out. Tillman said Turner Gill is a better candidate than Lane Kiffin for Tennessee job. I don't see where black coaches are getting overlooked as there are no good candidates to consider this year.
