I get on their website and chat with someone. I always end up getting it for around 7 dollars a month for a year when I say I’m going to cancel.

Same here. I make a note the week before my renewal every year. I have two autos with XM at a total of $12.5 a month for both.

You usually don't even have to threaten to cancel with them. If you just say hey I like my current plan but want to pay less they usually just take care of it.

They give me a yearly promo for the platinum package for $10/month and if I forget to talk to them when it expires they just give it to me again and credit my account for the amount I already paid.

It's not like cable companies that you have to threaten to leave because let's face it, there isn't another satellite radio company to switch to.

I was a big fan of Sirius and DirecTV for years, but their business models finally turned me against both. Loyal customers shouldn’t have to threaten to cancel a service constantly.

Reward those customers. Don’t make them waste half an afternoon at least twice a year dealing with customer service and threatening to cancel to get some “special” or “deal”.
