I've put about 200,000 miles on one without deleting it. And that was the first generation. No issues on that truck other than light bulbs, brake pads, tires, and oil/transmission fluid changes.
Second gen I used Range AFM bypass, which keeps the hardware but just never lets the truck go into V4 mode. That also lasted a long time but no idea if that was because of the RANGE thing.
