TBH, the only reason why the transfer portal is so popular currently (especially for QB’s), is because of what Joe Burrow did at LSU, which makes both the players and programs thirsty to try and duplicate it.

It won’t be duplicated, but it’s just another way Joe Burrow revolutionized the game of football.

Well if you're a backup QB to a solidly entrenched starter, then the portal may be your only option if you ever want to play meaningful snaps...depending on how many years of eligibility you and the starter ahead of you each have left. I can't blame a player who'd otherwise be riding the bench for using the portal to go somewhere that'll provide a chance to play
