I don't think either of them are doing each other any favors to be quite honest. I feel like the staff thought they could develop JD into more of a downfield passer and pair that with his running ability. I think Nuss more naturally fits what Denbrock can do.

100%. He does not fit into what Denbrock wants to do, and Denbrock refuses to use his greatest skillets. He would be dominant in an offense like Oregon, and Denbrock would be better served with a guy like Travis.

Yeah, the hope is Nuss can out-arm talent the offensive scheme's blandness and almost total lack of creativity. You have to live with the likely higher turnover count with Nuss to get the higher ceiling.
