They are just like any other gullible fan base. Remain optimistic, ignore the signs, and choose not to speak the truth until the coach is fired or gone. LSU fans are the same.

Because the ND AD is as big an egotistical jackass as BK. BK was his handpicked coach. He wasn’t fired after killing a kid. He wasn’t fired after going 4-8. He wasn’t fired after having to vacate wins in 2012-13. In fact the only reason he is even recognized as ND’s winningest coach is because ND continued to recognize the vacated wins. The only way BK was leaving South Bend was in the manner he did. Someone else had to take him off ND’s hands.
