Portnoy is a good example of how even our successes in the culture wars are part of a larger failure. I like his content fine - but he's a douche. He's sometimes funny. He occasionally has good takes. He uses influence for good things sometimes. But he's through and through a douche.

That we're constantly aligning ourselves with dudes like him to own the libs or nerds or whatever is just making our decline more fun/interesting, it's not slowing the decline.
