I’m taking my wife and oldest daughter to the Lauren Daigle concert on the 8th. Would like to stay the night if possible. Thinking about staying in Gonzales. Open to ideas.

Are you staying in Gonzales for safety reasons? There aren't many decent hotels in Gonzales, and that's a 20+ minute drive to the concert.
Hilton, Watermark, or Indigo downtown Baton Rouge would be walking distance to the River Center. Lots of restaurants in that area also. Just stay around the hotel area, and you'll be just fine. The crime is on the other side of the interstate around the bus station.

Avoid any hotels on Airline Highway or off the Siegen, Sherwood or O'Neal exits.

I've stayed at the Courtyard recently as well and it was fine. Not a full service chain but they do have breakfast in the morning and a small bar at night. There's also a Starbucks on the first floor. Walking distance from the River Center and just a block from The Watermark

Really no reason to stay in Gonzales. Courtyard and the watermark downtown is nice. Probably any hotel downtown is better than staying all the way in Gonzales

Appreciate the feedback guys.

Courtyard was booked so we went with the Hilton. As many times as I have been to BR I rarely stay the night as I live in the Lake Charles. Oddly, I’m very unfamiliar with downtown. I guess i assumed it would’ve been rough. I actually thought everything near the mall was clear. I guess that’s incorrect?
