Michigan was shite. That was just the media overhyping them going into the season.

They beat then No. 9 (9-3) Florida in the Citrus Bowl under Urban Meyer to end the year.
A Florida team that lost to consensus National Champion LSU by 4 points.
Ohio State (National Championship game runner-up) 14, Michigan 3.
Michigan was hungover drunk in the Appy game. Sure Appy State won the FCS National Title that year but no D1 team that finishes in the Top 20 and beat a Top 10 SEC school at the end of the year, while playing the Big10 Champ close, should lose to an FCS school. (Appy State lost to Wofford and Georgia Southern that year.)
