I am getting a system installed at my place right now and I dont see how adding in my neighbor would make it cheap or a 'combo deal'. I got an extra line put in by the water company and the rest of the project is through the landscaper.
The job doesnt necessarily get cheaper as it gets bigger. You just pay for more materials and labor. I guess the only way I can see a cheaper bill between us would be to share the line between our yards and have those sprinklers do both sides. Would me minimal savings though plus you would have one neighbor paying for the water

You in BR? How much does that cost to have that done? Just curious - I don't have an irrigation system currently, but if I do eventually, I'd like to explore the additional meter option.
