A $100 window unit from Lowes will be less than the weekend rate from the AC repair guy.
Make it a movie night, drag out the air mattresses, and the whole family sleeps in the living room.
At least that's how my OT Poor parents did it when ours went out.
ETA: if it's just the coils frozen, take the filter out of your return air, and melt all that ice with a hair dryer.

definitely have a window unit on hand, can really get you out of a jam if your main AC goes out or hurricane comes and you can run it on a gen

frick that. Replace the air filter. You don't know if your inside coils are causing the problem because they are dirty and you'd just make them dirtier.
