That’s absurd. Throwing parts at the problem. That sounds like they don’t want to do the work and gave you a “go away” quote.
Remember that even dealerships have a hard time keeping qualified mechanics on staff.

Yeah Honda had some warranty for the compressor and condenser I believe. They changed out the parts and 2 weeks later was blowing warm again. They later stated I need to change the whole part for 5 grand. I'll take it into a local mechanic to see

Don't blame the individual mechanic regarding the dealerships' policies. More specifically the repair depts' repair policies. His dealership is replacing all components as well as flushing lines in order due insure they will have it fixed as well as being able to fully warranty the repair.
