True story. Wore glasses all through elementary and middle school. On 8th grade basketball team and wore glasses to practice. Caught an elbow and smashed them.
Next few days at school started getting attention from girls who thought I was a new kid.

I wear glasses every day during work, but it's a lighter prescription, so I can get by without them.
I forgot to put them on one morning, so when I walked into my office, my whole team immediately said how "different" I looked. No one clarified if it was a good or bad different.
