so you argument is they lost these taxes right?
No.
quote:
so if they don't give the exemption and these projects don't happen....did they really lose anything?
No.
quote:
just to be clear...your argument is that SWLA should stop giving these exemptions and not get any of these projects
No, and stop saying SWLA gives the exemption. This exemption is issued by the state of Louisiana and what they decide is law in your parish. Not an opinion.
Windfalls are unexpected.
quote:
so its better to be spiteful and get nothing
Nope, never said that.
quote:
than compromise and secure long term growth for the area???
quote:
just making sure I understand your argument because you don't seem to understand...without ITEP these projects don't happen. period.
ITEP away, its for the best.

they are the ones affected though considering its mainly local property taxes effected which mainly stay local. and at one time the locals did have a say

tell us a better way then old wise one. god forbid we look at long term growth instead of the give me, give me now approach
and you say you didnt say all that then quote that those parishes lost tax money.....they didnt lose anything because they never had it. the parish nor the state invested anything into these projects to lose anything. all they have to do is say yea you can wait 10 years to pay and they get a whirlwind from the initial temp jobs in construction, the perm jobs and then the property tax after 10 years
