As my husband tells me, we CAN afford a maid but I don’t work so the least I could do is clean the house. I kind of agree with him. We mostly don’t live like we can afford a plane and our son has no idea that’s an option for us.

When you are 70 the house will need cleaning and you are too old to play tennis. Play tennis now, and clean the house then.

A housekeeper once a week to clean bathrooms, floors, etc beyond daily maintenance is pretty affordable actually.
