There are only 3-4 TV spots per network on Saturday.
For college fans.
11am - usually trash games, but you tune in to the most interesting game before you leave to tailgate.
3 pm - can only have 1 prime matchup and conferences usually schedule to have at least 1 decent matchup. Usually not much else on.
7 pm - night games, maybe 2-3 really great matchups all year per conference.

The problem is... where do you put all of these awesome games with conference realignment?
11am? More 7pm games?
The 3 pm games were already the best matchup of the week.
Trying to steal viewers from the other networks because your games are now - more better?

Should have left the conferences alone and let them battle it out in 12-team playoff.
It keeps traditions alive, forgives losses against other P5 teams... so you get more of those, keeps a competitive balance, and allows Cinderella stories.

They all just got too greedy.
