I'm not advocating getting blasted and getting behind the wheel of a boat, but boating and adult beverages sort of go hand in hand but you've got to be smart about it, if you're going to drive you've got to be the responsible one, if you stay away from trashy places like where all of the idiots are, maybe stay off the water when all of the idiots come out(big holidays,) and not having a boat load of idiots acting a fool, you probably won't draw undue attention to yourself, I've been boating a long time, have owned quite a few boats and I've never been pulled over and have never had anyone on my boat get hurt

Being on the water and drinking is synonymous in the places we grew up. It doesn’t make it right and I’ve been guilty of it just like almost everyone on here. However, in my older age, if you are going to run an inboard with 300+HP on a river you need to recognize the danger you present. It’s not the same as getting pissed in a bay boat fishing for reds.
