In 13x9 pyrex dish, put a layer of nilla wafers on the bottom, flat side down, covering the base. Then cover with bananas, then about half your pudding mixture. Repeat again. Cover and let chill for 4-5 hours so everything will meld well. Before serving, crush up wafers to crumble onto the top and grate a little nutmeg as well. Perfect balance of cooking, bananas, and pudding. The wafers in the pudding soften up and are almost more cake texture. The crumble on top gives you that little crunch.

I go very simple with mine, and honestly it is just good. It isn't fancy, but it works because everything is allowed to come together.

1 box instant vanilla pudding (i'm lazy)
1 can sweetened condensed milk (i like eagle brand)
2 cups cold milk
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
12 ounces cool whip
Usually around 10-12 bananas or so, depending on their size

I like having all my pudding mixture and cool whip mixed together smoothly, but some may like it more loosely incorporated. Personal preference.

It isn't fancy by any means, it just relies on letting everything blend together as it chills in the fridge and it comes out fantastic. Super simple and has always been a crowd pleaser anywhere i've taken it.
