Which is it, Bud? Them being outspoken about their beliefs is “pretty American.” Me being outspoken against their beliefs is whining and bitch behavior. Piss off with your contradictions.
You actively rooting against your country because you disagree with their opinion(s) is bitch behavior.
You are obviously free to root against them and be upset at their opinion. But as I said before it's a bitch move.
No contradictions. Your reading comprehension is just shitty.

Then express it publicly and shut that “couple others” up.
Why do they need to make their teammates shut up about anything? They're allowed to have their own opinions and beliefs. As a national team, I'm not going to publicly go to war with my own teammate over a disagreement in politics.
Again, you're obviously free to make ignorant sweeping generalizations because you can't handle someone with a differing opinion. It's just pathetic to actively root against your country's team because of it.

I don't take a hard stance on USWNT (I don't like them, but I'm not interested in dissuading people from being invested in it). That said, the "it's your country, you have to support them!" thing is increasingly silly.
If they share practically no common core beliefs/virtues with you, what exactly are you supporting? National pride, for it to make sense, has to be the collective celebration of something other than colors or geography. I guess we can just ride with those trappings, but it's going to be pretty thin and it's hard to blame people for shrugging their shoulders about it.
