Yea he died.
I was told it was a no-knock warrant and when the LEO barged in the man being served grabbed a gun and the shite hit.

Yes, Teet's is still there. They actually built a new, larger store ("Super Teet's").
Ville Platte still has plenty of industry:
Cabot Chemicals
Cameron-Cooper Oil Tools
Cameron Iron Works
Union Tank (rail road tank car)
Jack Miller's BBQ Sauce
Pig Stand BBQ Sauce (restaurant closed though)
Slap Ya Mama Seasoning
National Guard Campus
Votech School
not to mention all of the smaller businesses and the nearby state park.
Not too bad for such a small town.
