Keeping the car wreck theme but lightening the mood…
I was on E Boyd behind another car waiting to cross over Nicholson. This was back when there was only a STOP sign on E Boyd so it could get dangerous. The car in front of me pulled out to go straight and the car coming the opposite direction on E Boyd turned right in front of the car; they collided in the middle of Nicholson. I ran out of my car to see if the driver in front of me needed help. The driver was a very attractive co-ed with a Chi-O jersey on. She was bleeding from a cut on her forehead.
I grabbed a clean towel from my car and helped her hold it to her head while she sat and recovered from the shock. Two male paramedics showed up and checked her out and said she was going to be okay but asked more than once if she had chest pain. They kept saying they could check her chest for injuries in the privacy of the ambulance. She turned them down but finally relented and climbed into the back of the ambulance with the two guys and the doors closed behind them. I left at that point but still laugh at the way the hardlegs got to get a peek at “the goods.”
