You're going to buy a new backpack every year. Accept this fact and you will be happier. The same one would be boring and most likely not in style next year. Besides, they get grungy and gross. They need a new one each year.

Count yourself lucky. While my kids are now grown, parents in my district have to buy clear vinyl ones and are lucky if they last a whole semester, much less a whole year.
