We have a keeper league full of traditions. 120$ buy in.
The last place finisher from the previous year has to bring bottles of liquor to the following years draft.
His team is also haze renamed by the champion for the season. He sports a rainbow unicorn “I suck at fantasy” license plate on truck as well.
We have a giant canvas hall of fame that is scribed for the history of champions and the hall of shame of last place disgrace finishes.

Our last place finisher from 2022, who has been in the league for a long time, suddenly quit 46 days before the draft, thus ducking all of the penalties of last place
His best keeper option is tua in the 17th. Is there no honor left in this world?

Good riddance. Sounds like the league is better off now.

I think keeper/dynasty leagues should charge a deposit to each team for 1 year's buy-in. That way if an owner ducks out on a shitty team, the replacement owner gets his first year paid for in exchange for taking on a shite team.

Otherwise, it is almost impossible to find a decent replacement owner who will willingly start behind the 8 ball.

Regarding ducking out on the hazing penalties, I would still insist the dude send liquor to the draft and sport the license plate. If he refuses, slash his tires and bang his wife (you know she sees him as less of a man anyway).

I think people that have last place penalties are losers but if you agree to play in one, honor the terms.

Half my league would quit if we have to put deposits down most just aren’t that into it.

We don’t have a ton of turnover but we usually just kind of split half of it amongst the other 11 guys and just have the new dude pay half. It’s always worked out.

If the league is as great as you think it is, you should have several people on the wait list begging to take his place. Move on.

I have no dog in this hunt, but where did he say anything about how great the league is? He was just asking for opinions and venting a bit.
