Stihl trimmer carb replacement

My aunt asked me to fix her trimmer after hearing I replaced the carb on mine. Hers wouldn't start. It had good spark, bad plug, and the spark arrestor was not clogged. Hers is a Stihl FS40C, a curved shaft entry model. I brought it back to Bama, tore it down, put on a new Stihl carb, plug, fuel filter, and cleaned it all up. Runs like a beast now.
Inb4: shoulda just rebuilt the carb, shoulda just bought a new trimmer, shoulda just bought a knock off carb on Amazon, shoulda just bought her an Echo, go lectric!
When I go back to KY I'm expecting a kettle of Chicken n Dumplins for my efforts. CSB.

It's a really satisfying feeling when you fix something. You won't catch any hell from me.
I've been using a Husqvarna that I found in the trash for 4 years. Put a 15 dollar carb on it and it was like new. My mower at the camp is a Toro push mower I pulled from the trash. Recently sold a Cub Cadet that I found in the trash and repaired with a 20 dollar carb.

I have that same unit. I stick to the TrueFuel and it runs like a top, even after sitting all winter.

I picked up an old Homelite chainsaw one of my neighbors had sat out for garbage pickup. It was covered in cobwebs but had a new chain and bar. Took it home and the only thing wrong was the primer bulb had withered away to nothing. $7 later and it's running great. I have a Stihl Farm Boss but larger stuff but the Homelite is my little limb cutter.

That was her problem. Bad gas, sitting too long. Can't get non-ethanol gas in Harlan County. I took them a 5 gal jug of non-ethanol gas to use in their small engines so this won't happen again.
