re: Louisiana residents: REALISTICALLY, where else would you live?

The people that claim they’d like to live hours from civilization haven’t really thought things through. Far from an airport makes seeing family very difficult. As you get older you want to be closer to a hospital and a network of doctors.

We sought out a small city with an airport close by that has at least one college and a centralized walkable downtown. Other requirements were a mild summer and not prone to destructive episodic weather (hurricanes and tornadoes). We initially narrowed the list to Burlington, Boise, Boulder, Ithaca, and Madison.
