Carlee wasn’t married or just “disappearing” while jogging leaving behind a phone and some pulled out real hair where she jogged for husband to find using find my after returning home finding out his wife was not there and their kids still in daycare at almost 6PM. Police and media attention would start to build next day or so. Attention by police was needed with Sherri but not immediately.

Carlee calls police to come to her location as it’s happening due to a child walking on side of hwy and then has sister-in-law or brother’s girlfriend relay of same story along with a scream from Carlee to the mom.

Calling police with toddler report, creating a witness hearing possible harm & abduction, leaving wig and hat like pulled off, and car running to be seen by shortly arriving cops is putting yourself immediately on active radar not going off the radar.

It might be due to time frame wanting to disappear. Sherri wanted weeks away and then be welcomed back by husband and all the other attention when “found”. Carlee’s planned time away might not have been long enough for police involvement or enough attention with an adult possibly just taking off for a couple of days.

Carlee is 25. Unless a baby was created with this boyfriend or sexual relationship started before he turned 16 (or she was a school employee when it started) I am not sure why she would need to create any kind of ruse much less immediately getting cops involved like this to just get away for only some alone time with boyfriend. She could just tell parents she was visiting a friend out of town. If anything the 17 year old boyfriend might have needed to create some kind of distraction or story to parents to be away for a couple of days.

There has to be some kind of reward or benefit she sought and expected beyond some sex & alone time with boyfriend. Not sure if seeking it from public, parents, boyfriend, or all of the above. Street cam seems to have messed with plan, but the pushing back on go fund me by parents may also have been unexpected.
