I don't know all the details, but on the face of it this seems like another hate crime hoax. There is an epidemic of black people faking hate crimes for attention and/or money. Jussie is only the most famous example, but there are many lesser known ones.

Seems a little strong for this case. If I were going to run with your conspiracy theory, I would say the actual international media attention foiled their plan.

I have no idea if this was the original motive. But I feel confident that now that FunnyMaine is involved it will be soon enough.
Maybe he can make another speech imploring people to burn down Birmingham to avenge racial inequality. That will fix things.
