LSU has been applied to more, and has accepted more students YOY since we've made the switch to a more Holistic Admission approach. This incoming freshman class will be the biggest, and most accomplished incoming class we've ever had. We do not have an attraction problem with talented students.

Avg. GPA - 3.5-4.1
Avg. ACT - 23-29

We are graduating bigger classes every year too. We don't have an issue with academics. This is a story that we as alum can do a better job of telling. Please get involved with your local LSU Alumni chapter, so that as these types of conversations come up locally, you can help debunk the "LSU is a party school / LSU is a sports school" narrative. We are DAMN STRONG in academics. Dr. Tate and his team are doing a great job with recruiting talent at the research and fundraising level to continue to thrust us forward. The present is bright, and the future is brighter!
