It’s my understanding that it doesn’t. It is basically a retelling /reboot of the 1954 movie.

This is a TOHO film. I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with the Godzilla/Kong universe
Godzilla Minus One will be premiering in Japan on this year’s “Godzilla Day,” which is November 3. It's confirmed for release in U.S. theaters starting December 1, where it will be available to watch across the nation.
