I have cats.
They don’t seem to deter much though they kill birds regularly and bring in through the cat door.

What say ye?

They must be coming for food or water.

They may be looking for cover so you have trees?

Try the bird reflective tape on Amazon. It’s really cheap and has good reviews about stopping them. Worth a try.

Are there areas where they are trying to build nests? If so, this is what I did. I have two second story porches with caps on the posts that are way wider than the posts that offer a flat area where doves would often build nests. I got tired of the nest material, bird crap and the occasional dead baby dove that fell to the porch and tried the following.

Every flat surface they could build a nest on I put a small stuffed animal and they don't even think of coming around now. Problem solved.

I may have to try this once the latest baby birds hatch and fly away. Birds are constantly building nests in my wife's plants on the patio.

Plastic snakes in places where they might nest.

We put a fake but, realistic looking owl under our car shed. Been working for several years.

Every situation is different but if you can tie up fishing string around said carport they’ll stay away. When they hit the string flying they freak out and typically stay away after.
